Nanomerics
Nanoparticle-based drug delivery for developing precision medicines, to treat ophthalmology and central nervous system conditions.
Nanomerics Ltd is a speciality pharmaceutical company based in London, UK.
The company was founded to commercialise its biocompatible polymer technologies for drug delivery and other applications. Its proprietary proprietary Envelope Technology (MET) platform enhances and repurposes known drugs - getting more drug to the site of action, with improved activity and reduced side effects.
It is based on world leading know-how and scientific leadership in polymer nanotechnology.
The Nanomerics journey so far:
- 2010: spinout founded as a collaboration between UCL, University of Glasgow and Strathclyde
- 2024:
- Molecular Envelope Technology (MET) validated across multiple drug classes
- Winner of The King's Award for Enterprise: Innovation, and RSC Emerging Technologies Prize
- 2025: OC134 Phase I clinical trial met all primary endpoints. OC134 and the MET platform were well tolerated in healthy volunteers (no adverse events of moderate or severe severity).
