  4. Neuroharmonics

Neuroharmonics is built on a decade of the founders' research in biomedical ultrasound.

Noticing the inability to precisely target deep brain structures without invasive surgery, the company has designed and built a new platform to focus low-intensity ultrasound through the skull to influence brain circuits, guided by an MRI scan and computational models. The stimulation is non-ablative (it does not destroy tissue), and is built to be repeatable.

Ultrasound shows promise for treating neurological and psychiatric conditions, as well as a foundation for next-generation neuromodulation applications.

Once approved outside of the clinic, sessions are intended for an ordinary outpatient setting: no surgery, no implant, no anaesthesia and no head shaving.

The Neuroharmonics journey so far:

  • 2024: the company spun out of UCL.
