Gigaton has a singular mission: reduce global emissions at the gigatonne scale.
Starting with cement, its Delta Zero product enables energy intensive industries like cement to reduce their emissions and costs. Delta Zero is Gigaton's proprietary software platform, using deep reinforcement learning to enable instant reductions in energy consumption, cost and carbon emissions.
Based on innovative research at Cambridge University, and UCL, Delta Zero delivers state-of-the-art artificial intelligence solutions to manufacturers.
The Gigaton journey so far:

Dr. Aidan O'Sullivan
Co-founder
Dr O'Sulivan is an Associate Professor in Energy and Artificial Intelligence at UCL Energy Institute, where he leads the Energy Systems and Artificial Intelligence Lab and the department's Data
Analytics research theme. He is also the founding course director of the Energy Systems and Data Analytics MSc, an innovative programme that combines the study of energy systems and sustainability with data science and machine learning.
Prior to joining UCL Aidan was awarded a PhD from the department of Mathematics Imperial College London for his work on Bayesian Latent Variable Models. He subsequently joined MIT as a postdoctoral researcher in the Civil Engineering Department as part of the Intelligent Transport Systems Lab. This position also took him to Singapore as part of the Singapore MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).
Aidan was awarded a Turing Fellowship in 2018 from the Alan Turing Institute, the UK's leading centre for AI and data science research.

Dr. Will Mortimore
Senior Business Manager
Dr Will Mortimore is responsible for fostering UCL’s Physical Sciences IP portfolio into commercial opportunities across a broad range of technologies and sectors, with a key focus on Climate
Tech.
Will joined UCL Ventures from the University of Surrey where he managed technology transfer for the faculty of engineering and physical sciences, leading the creation of several spinouts and commercial opportunities. This has been built upon solid international commercial experience as a business development manager for technical products covering a wide range of industries from aviation to medical devices.
Prior to this, Will held a number of materials development roles from a PhD in fuel cells through to product development and scientific consultancy for the power sector.
