Publication scheme: Guide to Information

UCL Ventures has adopted the latest Model Publication Scheme produced by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the independent authority responsible for compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). As UCL Ventures is a wholly-owned subsidiary of University College London, this Guide to Information has been produced in accordance with the Information Commissioner’s Definition Document for Universities and other Higher Education Institutions.

This Guide was last updated June 2026.

Copies of requested datasets are published on the most appropriate pages of UCL Ventures' website depending on their contents.

Information is not published in this Scheme:

1. where UCL Ventures does not hold it,
2. where UCL Ventures considers is to be exempt under one of the exemptions in Part II of the FOIA, or Environmental Information Regulations exceptions, or disclosure of the information is prevented by law or the otherwise properly considered to be protected from disclosure;
3. where it is in draft form.
4. where it is archived, out-of-date, or otherwise inaccessible; or
5. where UCL Ventures considers that it would be impractical or resource-intensive to prepare the material for routine release.

Format

This website contains most of the information that UCL Ventures publishes. Many of the documents are in digital format and can be downloaded from the website free of charge.

Charges

Most of the information contained in the Publication Scheme and listed in this Guide can be downloaded from the UCL Ventures website free of charge. UCL Ventures reserves the right to make a small charge for printed copies of documents available on the website to cover administrative costs and disbursements.

Requests for information not included in the Scheme

Information held by UCL Ventures which is not contained in the Publication Scheme and listed in this Guide may be requested by emailing legal@uclventures.com. Requests will be considered in accordance with the FOIA.
